Week in Review: October 28th, 2011

Shabbat Shalom!  A busy holiday season has now morphed into a busy fall, with the Boulder JCC’s annual Festival of Books and Culture kicking off this past weekend as well as the BJCC’s First Bites Preview party to celebrate the Cornerstone Campaign next Wednesday night.

Be sure to check out the article Circumcision Debate Draws a Crowd about the circumcision film and forum last week. It was a very well attended and lively event, and the article has drawn a large number of comments from all over.

The BJN also congratulates Leonard and Nancie Velick of Boulder on celebrating their Golden Anniversary.  The BJN requests and encourages our readers to send us their birth, bnai mitzvah, engagement, wedding and anniversary simcha announcements, which we run free of charge.

Sadly, this week also saw three obituaries, and we send our thoughts and prayers to the Goodman, Guitar and Rosencranz families.

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
