Tis the season for honoring. Last Saturday night, Congregation Har HaShem honored four long time employees at a prom-themed bash (long dresses, tuxes, and a wide range of interpretive attire!) at A Spice of Life Event Center. This weekend, Boulder Jewish Day School honors outgoing head of school Shoshi Bilavsky and long-time board member Jeffrey Linsky. Congratulations to all the honorees!
Have you been counting the Omer? Lag B’Omer marks the “break in the action” typically celebrated in Israel with a BBQ. Here we’ll mark it with not only BBQ but Elvis. For a bit of fun, check out the “Homer Counter” – scroll down to see the recent Simpsons episode featuring the Simpsons in Israel, and there’s a printable calendar and blessings too.
This week we published the 600th post on Boulder Jewish News. Over 60 local authors help make this possible – thank you to everyone who contributes time, articles, photos, and supports local Jewish news with sponsorship and by helping spread the word. Share an article with your friends – email the daily email to someone who may not yet know about it, or share an article on Facebook. The community calendar even lets you email an event to someone with a personal note. There are so many ways to get involved! If you’d like to contribute an article – a review, an opinion, a recipe, a tradition – let us know.
