Jean Braunstein Katz, z”l

Jean Braunstein Katz, mother of Froma Fallik, passed away in Chicago on Friday just short of her 95th birthday.  Froma reported that her mother had a very peaceful end, reciting the Shema with Froma’s sister just before she died.  The funeral is at 2pm on Sunday May 2nd in New Jersey with one night of shiva there, then Monday in Chicago .  Froma and husband Josh Fallik will be returning to Boulder on Tuesday where Froma will sit the rest of shiva.

There will be minyanim at the following times:

Tuesday  7:30 pm

Wednesday   7:00 am and 7:30 pm

Thursday   7:00 am and 7:30 pm (the regular Bonai Thursday morning minyan will relocate)

Friday  7:00 am

All at the home of Josh & Froma, 830 McIntire Street, Boulder CO 80303.

Froma will also be sitting in the afternoon if anyone wants to pay a shiva call.

We will need the community’s help with food for the shiva minyanim as well as providing meals for Froma, Josh and Yoni through next Shabbat.  The Fallik’s home is kosher and vegetarian so meals will either need to be prepared in a kosher home or bought and hechshered (certified kosher).  If you would like to help, please email Amy Stein astein@adl.org and let her know what and when you can bring food.  She will also be able to answer any questions about kashrut.

Hamakom y’nachem – May God grant strength and comfort to Froma and her family.  Alah hashalom – peace on the soul of Zahavah bat Yitzhak HaCohen v’Rivka.

Blessings,

Rabbi Marc
