Every year, the Boulder County Center for Judaism selects a member of the Boulder Jewish community whose volunteer work has lifted our community in important ways for the honor of lighting the Pearl Street Menorah at our annual menorah lighting event (Monday, December 19).

This year, we add a new tradition to the season: remembering a time that strayed from dream into nightmare, from light into despair, and now, one year later, teaches us about resilience and hope.  

This year, families are invited to turn to PJ Library for a treasure trove of free resources created to ensure Chanukah 2022 is a memorable one; included is an updated Chanukah Hub featuring printable recipes and activity ideas, book lists, a new story-based podcast and so much more!

On Saturday, December 10th, 2022, Ariana Eisler will be called to the Torah as Bat Mitzvah at Congregation Har HaShem.

The Boulder County Center for Judaism and the Boulder JCC are hosting a one-of-a-kind public Menorah lighting. 

The Boulder JCC has 7 events on tap for the Chanukah season! (Why not 8? Ask them!)

The Adventure Rabbi Teens group meets once a month. Their activities are focused on fun and friendship. "Our teens have experienced their share of stress and trauma," explains Rabbi Korngold. "We want them to know that every month we offer a fun activity for them to do, with a group of Jewish friends."

In the Torah there was a special Mitzvah in the year following the Sabbatical year of all men, women and children and even babies to gather in the temple and to hear the King read from the Torah to them. This is that year.

As part of her job at Boston Children's Hospital, Susan Harris consoles grieving parents who've just lost a child, supports families with end-of-life care, and comforts children with terminal illnesses. But on Fridays, in anticipation of the Sabbath, she also gives out challah.

On Saturday, November 5th, 2022, Arlo Arenson-Pie will be called to the Torah as Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Har HaShem.

On Saturday, October 29th, 2022 Charlie Elchoness and Evan Mandelbaum will be called to the Torah as B'nai Mitzvah at Congregation Har HaShem.

On Saturday, October 29th, 2022 Elan Greenstreet will be called to the Torah as Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Nevei Kodesh.

On Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 Olive Spohn and Benjamin Protas will be called to the Torah as B'nai Mitzvah at Congregation Har HaShem.
