The Trope of God

The Trope of God

It’s one of those days…

When everything I see or feel

reminds me of oatmeal.

One of those days…

When I realize

that all my thoughts are verses

with no connection,

living and dying without a word

being heard,

but still i write and pray for all humanity.

‘Grant true and lasting peace to Your people…’

I’m in the darkness, in the wilds,

with no one to hold on to.

‘Our God and God of our ancestors,

have compassion for us…’

Bless each and every soul,

may you join with me,

praying the holy trope

that rises and falls in the name of God.

May the promise of life be with us.

Let Your light shine upon

the lost and lonely souls.

I seem to hear God saying,

I love you, isn’t that enough?

Then I see the world is full of roses.
