“Shakespeare and Violence Prevention” Sunday at the Boulder JCC

“Shakespeare and Violence Prevention” Sunday at the Boulder JCC

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is a professional theatre company in association with the University of Colorado Boulder. For over 60 seasons, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival (CSF) has delighted audiences with classic theatre under the stars; celebrating and exploring Shakespeare and his continuing influence and vitality through productions of artistic quality, education, and community engagement.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival invites you to learn about its innovative Shakespeare & Violence Prevention program and its impact from experts in the field. The Festival’s touring company will perform a 45-minute production of “The Merchant of Venice,” followed by a panel discussion focusing on the intersections of violence prevention research, bias and discrimination, antisemitism, and applied theater.

The panel includes representatives from:
– The Colorado Shakespeare Festival
– The Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence
– CU Boulder’s Program in Jewish Studies
– The Anti-Defamation League’s “No Place for Hate” program

Sunday, April 16 | 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM | FREE, Registration is required
