Life, Death and Then Life — A Poetic Tribute

Life, Death and Then Life — A Poetic Tribute

Life, Death and Then Life — A Poetic TributeI believe in no coincidences

Whether we are drawn into

Sharing our ideas

With theirs

Ours are drawn out to mingle with

The Other in another’s thoughts.

Just within these last few weeks

I lost a man I respected, Ron Goodman,

A Man of Great integrity and

Vision.

I told a few friends that Ron reminded me of my father:

Their ability to have a vision,

To maintain their vision through the course,

To share and repair

To dare to help others

With their own dreams,

To help sow the seeds

In the hands of others….

And then the Call

My father, rasping, hardly speaking,

Come home…

By his side,

He still wanted a new idea to be handed

To those who would now continue

To keep his bellows heating;

All his new gifts,

Artwork, stables, even Foundations,

His work was continuing on ,

Over and over in his head.

All meant for his family

To maintain,

Still giving to the world;

The horse artwork he thought would

Hopefully fulfill someone’s delight

Of the smell of the stables,

His articles still unedited

Stood by the side of his desk,

He even started his own Foundation,

Perhaps try to teach

We  should all find enough Worth

To give to the world

In a new and wonderful way our gifts.

Ron Goodman, I said I thought he was like my father

And then my father died…

Since my Dad saw no differences

Between these souls or those soles

He cared for no arrangements,

But I prayed for him while he was alive,

While he died, and after…

I thought of Ron Goodman

And my Dad, and

Life.
