Annual March for Unity With Lemon Tree Group This Sunday

Members of the Lemon Tree Group are hoping you will join the March for Unity this Sunday afternoon, August 25th. It will be a unique opportunity to meet, talk and listen to people from different communities and backgrounds.  A chance to transcend differences through understanding!

Speakers this year will include: Sister Paola Sandoval from Islamic Community of Boulder, Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, Rep Joe Neguse, Karen Orona, a Latina from CU and CIRC (Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition), Pastor James Ray from Second Baptist Church of Boulder, Secretary of State Jena Griswold,  inspirational speaker, Dr. Elia Gourgouris, author of “7 Paths to Lasting Happiness,” and Rae Abelah a phenomenal poet who concludes the March with prayer poetry from our day’s experience.

Join us for The Lemon Tree Group’s 6th Annual March for Unity: Embracing Our Humanity on Sunday, August 25, 2019, in Boulder Colorado from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. All Are Welcome!

The Lemon Tree Group’s March for Unity brings together people from different communities and backgrounds who do not usually meet, talk, and listen to one another. We will start at 4:00 pm at Second Baptist Church, 5300 Baseline Road in Boulder. Together we will walk along Baseline Road to Congregation Har HaShem, 3950 Baseline Road.  Along the walk there will be music, water, snacks, and access to restrooms.  The March will end with music and speakers at 6:00 pm. You can join us at any point along the path.

MARCH FOR FRIENDSHIP    MARCH FOR PEACE   MARCH FOR RESPECT

We appreciate your support.

This is a non-political event sponsored by the Lemon Tree Group.*

*The Lemon Tree Group includes Jewish, Muslim, Christian, American, Palestinian, Lebanese and Israeli members who have been meeting for over seven years.  It was originally started as a gathering to read the book “The Lemon Tree” by Sandy Tolan and to raise money to support Open House in Ramle, Israel, the preschool program at this Israeli-Arab community center whose history is chronicled in the book.

We meet monthly to discuss history and current events in the Middle East from all points of view.  Together we have created a safe and trusting environment to speak our truth, share our food and stay current with an open mind.  The March invites the wider community to share in the spirit of The Lemon Tree Group.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
