Week in Review: July 5th, 2013

bjn-logo8-200x200-blueShabbat shalom!  A final reminder that today, July 5th, is the deadline for grant applications to the Boulder Jewish Community Foundation.  If you are involved in one of our local organizations, make sure that they know about the BJCF’s grant program and have submitted a grant request.

We hope that all our readers are enjoying a great Independence Day holiday weekend.  Last night’s Ralphie’s Independence Day Bash at CU’s Folsom Field was very successful and well attended.

As we have seen for the last several years, things slow down a bit in summer, whether it’s the heat or everyone’s travel schedules.  For the month of July, BJN will go to a weekly schedule. For those who are contributors, the weekly deadline will be 5 pm on the following Wednesdays:

  • July 10
  • July 17
  • July 24
  • July 31

To the extent there is breaking news or lifecycle events, we will publish as usual, however, for everything else, please plan ahead and pay attention to the Friday “Week in Review” email!

If your travels this summer take you to sites of Jewish interest, we hope you’ll share your experience.

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
