  1. Russ & Daughters is an old Jewish Deli on the lower east side that we used to drive to occasionally. Fabulous smoked fish, long before Zabar's became an empire. Next door was a tiny bakery that sold the best onion board ever.

  3. Speaking of N.Y. eating institutions do you know if Rueben’s, fabulous purveyor of elite Jewish cookery is still in business? They were on 58th St between 5th and Madison? Love your N.Y. Trivia, one of my favorite cities.
