Letter: Councilmember Adams Responds to Recent Letters

Good morning,

I am responding to those who have been cc’d in this email (Letter: Council Member Adams’ Conduct Must Be Addressed, BJN, 5/28/25). I have cc’d our Mayor Aaron Brockett as well as our city manager.

My role as a liaison to the Boulder Nablus Sister City has been a tremendous cultural exchange and people to people experience.  As a former director of UNA-NCA Global Classrooms Model United Nations programs where we hosted our conferences at the US State Department, I understand the critical importance of cross-culture exchange.  During these fascist heavy times we live int, our sister city programs play an even more critical role.  I would do nothing to compromise the integrity of that program.

Our Boulder Nablus Sister City delegation just returned from a trip to Nablus.  There we met with the Mayor, Governor, fire department, labor union leadership, EMTs, educators, artists, business leaders, and many community leaders.  Our delegation is organizing community events to share what we learned in the weeks ahead.  I’ll be sure to extend an invitation.

In the interim, I welcome an opportunity to meet with you directly online or in person to discuss these allegations (including blocking constituents from social media) or anything else you would like to discuss related to me, my role on Boulder City Council, city council business/matters, my climate and cultural resilience priorities, and the lived and learned experiences that inform and guide my worldview.

For those interested in meeting, please respond to this email and I will share my availability with you.

For those representing news outlets, please let me know if there are op-ed requirements or other opportunities to respond to allegations.

Only together can we thrive,
Taishya

Taishya Adams (she/her)
Councilmember, Boulder City Council
