Workshop for Parents of Teens Comes to Boulder

Teen years have never been easy for young people,  But it’s gotten even harder in today’s fast-paced world to navigate these years with clarity and confidence. An upcoming workshop being offered by two Boulder parenting specialists called “Bridging the Gap: Communicating with Your Teen While Building Trust and Boundaries” can help.

The workshop will be held on three consecutive Tuesdays, April 22, April 29 and May 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nevei Kodesh, 1925 Glenwood Drive. The cost is $150 or an individual and $250 per couple.

Some of the topics that will be explored in the 3-part program will be:

Batya Greenwald
  • Understanding brain development to maximize your parenting skills
  • How to self-regulate to regulate those around you
  • The difference between boundaries and punishments
  • Setting limits with consistency and warmth
  • Negotiating age-appropriate autonomy
  • Building and repairing trust with your pre-teen/teens

Co-facilitator Batya Greenwald retired after more than 25 years of teaching experience with BCSIS and is an Integrative Coach working with individuals and families. “I’ve facilitated teaching and parenting courses for many years and love partnering with parents around authentically raising connected and capable children,” says Batya.

Nili Feingold

Co-facilitator Nili Feingold is a couples and family therapist, coach and mentor. She was director of the Juvenile Diversion Program for the DA’s office for many years and is a trained Restorative Justice facilitator. Nili uses her many years of experience to creatively problem solve with her clients. She will bring cultural perspective, humor and storytelling to this topic.

“Nili and I both feel passionate about helping parents understand the power and beauty of the teen years and finding ways to step into relationships with their kids in a deeper way,” says Batya.
