Colorado Jews Gather for a Day of Learning, Inspiration, and Action
Denver, CO: On February 2nd, Colorado Jewish Climate Action (CJCA) will host its second community-wide climate summit at the Hebrew Educational Alliance in Denver, calling on the Jewish community to come together to take action and create a better future for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
Moshe Kornfeld, Executive Director of Colorado Jewish Climate Action, notes that “the new federal administration has already withdrawn the U.S. from its global commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions even while the fires in California are still smoldering and global temperatures are reaching new highs.” Colorado Jewish Climate Action is dedicated to meeting this moment by bringing local and state-level climate solutions to the Colorado Jewish community and by building an interfaith climate justice coalition here in Colorado.
Summit highlights will include a keynote address from Attorney General Phil Weiser, educational panels about Colorado climate issues including drought and environmental justice, inspiring and practical opportunities to take action, uplifting music, kids’ programming, and more. The Colorado Jewish Climate Summit is supported by twenty-two community partners, including the Boulder JCC, Congregation Bonai Shalom, Congregation Nevei Kodesh, and Congregation Har HaShem.
