Letter: We Cannot Accept Refugees With a Very High Risk of Terrorism

Dear Letter to the Editor:

The Arab League has 22 member states with 5,070,420 sq. mi. of territory. But no member state has offered to open their doors to Gaza refugees.

Cairo is determined to prevent an exodus of refugees, fearing it could weaken Palestinian terror against Israel, justified as needed for statehood. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/10/13/egypt-gaza-border-palestinian-refugees-israel/) Egyptian President el-Sisi said, “There is a danger” when it comes to Gaza, he said – “a danger so big because it means an end to this (Palestinian) cause….” (https://www.kcra.com/amp/article/the-last-remaining-exit-for-gazans-is-through-egypt-heres-why-cairo-is-reluctant-to-open-it/45541637)

“…United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas,” said Rep. Jamaal Bowman, but Sen. Marco Rubio notes “our nation’s inability to secure our own border or vet those who are already here.” (https://nypost.com/2023/10/14/progressives-call-for-us-to-take-refugees-from-gaza/)

We cannot accept refugees with a very high risk of terrorism, and whose fellow Arabs do not want them.
