Community Partnership Brings Fresh Produce to Families in Need

Thanks to a new partnership with Congregation Bonai Shalom and Red Wagon Farm, a changing variety of Boulder Jewish Family Service (JFS) clients are now receiving weekly fresh produce deliveries! Red Wagon Farm is generously donating seven to 10 unused CSA (community supported agriculture) shares to families in need each week. Bonai Shalom members have kindly volunteered to pick up the produce at the farm in Niwot and deliver it to our clients. Some of the families have children with disabilities; others are food insecure and lack enough resources to purchase healthy food.

This program began in late May and will run through mid-October. We are thrilled with this community partnership and it is making such a difference for local individuals and families in need. We received this feedback from a mother with young children: “Thank you very much for the vegetables. I really appreciate all your support. My family is in a much better financial place than before the pandemic hit and we have you to thank.”
