Haver was formed over 25 years ago by congregational rabbis to collectively create programs that their congregations were too small to support individually. Many of these programs continue today such as Boulder’s conversion course (now called Ikar, previously called Derech Chayim and Melton), and events to commemorate Yom HaShoah and Shavuot. The Boulder Jewish community is unique in many ways, one of them being the collaboration of our congregations through Haver.
On January 1, 2019, Rabbi Ruthie Gelfarb completed her term as Haver’s president. Rabbi Jamie Korngold steps into the presidency and joining her on the Vaad (the Executive Board) are Rabbi Deborah Bronstein (Secretary) and Rabbi Lynne Goldsmith (Treasurer.)
“Rabbi Ruthie [Gelfarb] was an incredible leader,” extolled Rabbi Korngold. “She integrated our new members Rabbi Lynne Goldsmith and Rabbi Fred Greene. She updated our structures and helped us work more effectively.” She continued, “The main goals for my presidency are to continue her great leadership and to support the work the rabbis are doing on behalf of Haver.”
The community is invited to attend Haver events held for Yom HaShoah and Shavuot. Yom HaShoh will be held May 1, 2019 at Nevei Kodesh, 7-8:30 pm with a special youth program from 5:30-6:45 pm. Shavuout will be held June 8-9, 2019.
