Two $10,000 awards will fund original research on infertility in Jewish populations
Jewish Fertility Foundation (JFF), a national nonprofit supporting families through infertility since 2015, has opened applications for a new research grant aimed at REI (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility) fellows. The grant will award $10,000 each to two fellows conducting original research on infertility among Jewish individuals and couples.
Little research exists on how genetics, culture, and community shape fertility and access to care within Ashkenazi, Sephardic, and Mizrahi populations. JFF started the grant to fund early-career researchers taking that on.
Fellows can propose research on genetic factors affecting fertility, access to reproductive care, recurrent pregnancy loss, LGBTQ+ family-building, fertility preservation, or the psychological impact of infertility.
“Jewish patients have long been underrepresented in fertility research, despite unique genetic, cultural, and community factors shaping their experience of infertility,” said Elana Frank, CEO & Founder of the Jewish Fertility Foundation. “This grant invests directly in the science and the scientists, who will help transform fertility care for Jewish families for generations to come.”
Applicants must be current REI fellows in an ACGME-accredited program in the U.S. Applicants do not need to be Jewish. The application deadline is November 30, 2026, with awardees notified between February and March 2027.
