As members of Haver, the Rabbinic Council of Boulder, we are enraged and deeply saddened by Saturday night’s shooting by a 22-year-old at an LBGTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs.

After a two year "hiatus", Shavuot celebrations are back in person!

We stand together in support and mourning of two deadly mass shootings that occurred over the weekend and are being investigated as hate crimes: one at a Buffalo, NY supermarket in a predominantly Black neighborhood, the other at Taiwanese church in Laguna Woods, CA. 

After two years of online programming, the Boulder community will have an opportunity to gather in person for Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day, on April 27th at Congregation Har HaShem.

It is with gut wrenching sorrow that we come together – again – to express outrage and deep concern for the continued gun violence in our country, especially that committed against children.

Haver, the Rabbinic Council of Boulder, will host a virtual program at 10:00 am on Sunday, May 16th to get participants in the mindset to receive the Torah.

Once again, we find ourselves called to action to speak out against genocide, religious persecution, and human rights offenses. The plight of the Uyghur Muslims in China is one of the most abominable crises affecting our world today.

Maria Krenz will recount her story of survival this Wednesday, April 7th at 7:00 pm during Boulder’s Yom HaShoah program, presented by Haver, the Rabbinic Council of Boulder, and the Boulder JCC.

The rabbis of Haver stand in solidarity with the grieving families and communities and offer our support. 

In response to seeing so many people suffer on so many levels, the rabbis of Haver have decided to mark the one-year anniversary of Covid-19 in Boulder with a special program on Sunday March 14th that acknowledges those losses but also offers hope and a path toward healing.

We are also saddened by the killing of George Floyd.... But we were also disappointed by some parts of the statement.

We are grieving not just for George Floyd, Tony McDade, Sean Reed, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor but for the many unnamed victims of police brutality, racial profiling, and excessive force.

In the midst of Stay-at-Home orders issued by state and local governments, Boulder’s rabbinic council, Haver, had to innovate ways to celebrate Shavuot, the holiday commemorating receiving the Torah from Mount Sinai.
