Was It Merely Coincidence?

Was It Merely Coincidence?

Was It Merely Coincidence? The incredible coincidence (or, is it) of the timing of the announcements of the deaths of Adolph Hitler and Osama Bin Laden (almost down to the minute, local times), suggest no coincidence at all.

This is beyond mere coincidence. This is sweet justice – NOT vengeance, but justice.

(Another commonality, not mentioned, is the fact that both tyrants died with a bullet to the brain – in Hitler’s case, self-inflicted; in Bin Laden’s case, inflicted by brave young US Navy Seal.)

This – President Obama’s decision to execute Bin Laden – is the long arm of justice catching up to a cruel and murderous leader. To capture Bin Laden alive would have meant a long and costly captivity and trial – not to mention the political complications such a decision might have had. For the US to have buried him almost immediately at sea was brilliant. It was in keeping with Moslem tradition and custom.

Another “coincidence” – May 1 is also the day that Hollocaust Memorial Day, this year, was memorialized throughout the world.

I am sincerely grateful to the men and women of our intelligence and military communities for their brilliantly planned and executed actions.

I applaud President Obama for his impeccable timing.

Or: Was it merely coincidence?
