Cultivating Abundance: A Tu B’Shevat Seder

Cultivating Abundance: A Tu B’Shevat Seder

Join us for a unique and meaningful Tu B’Shevat Seder on Wednesday, February 12, at 6 pm, as we explore the theme of Cultivating Abundance through the interconnected lenses of Body and Earth. TogetJher, we will reflect on how abundance flows into our lives and communities, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the mystical wisdom of the Tree of Life. We are honored to welcome Ryan Madson of Drylands Agroecology Research to speak about cultivating community and earthly abundance.

Tu B’Shevat, the New Year of the Trees, is one of the four “New Years” in the Jewish calendar. Celebrated on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Shevat, this holiday marks the awakening of trees and the renewal of life. We commemorate this occasion with a seder, meaning “order,” a festive experience where we celebrate tree fruits, share their offerings, and embrace the wisdom they provide.

This Tu B’Shevat Seder will guide us through four symbolic stages:

🌳 Roots: Honoring our ancestors and the unseen networks that sustain us.

🌳 Trunk: Finding balance and alignment within ourselves.

🌳 Branches: Strengthening our connections to community support.

🌳 Fruit: Sharing the gifts we cultivate with intention and purpose.

Through song, text study, embodied practices, and meaningful conversation, we will celebrate the abundance already present in our lives and plant seeds for a future where we live and give from a place of abundance.

Special Guests & Activities:

  • Ryan Madson, director of operations at Drylands Agroecology Research and founder of Junkyard Social Club, will share insights on cultivating abundance in our communities.
  • Jenna Zadaka and Mitten Lowe will lead Jewish meditation and embodiment practices, fostering a deeper connection between body and spirit.
  • Leah Boonin will guide us in song, enriching our experience with music and harmony.
  • Hands-on service project with Repair the World, putting our values into action through community care and environmental stewardship.

We will enjoy a nourishing, plant-based meal catered by Plant-Based Boulder, featuring winter squash from Milk and Honey Farm. This seasonal and sustainable feast will highlight the beauty and abundance of the natural world.
