Shabbat shalom! It’s Passover (April 22-30). Check out all the goodness! Our good friend, Bruce Shaffer writes from Jerusalem:
“Pesach is otherwise arriving to very mixed emotions, and a lot of dread – almost the feeling of “do we have to?” and “let’s get it over with.” For we are living the story, we do not need to go through the additional motions of recalling it, and we are not, now, in a place of Freedom – and this year, not because others aren’t free. We are not – as yearned for in the Hatikva national anthem – an am hofshi b’artzeynu, a free people in our land. … Many here have taken to saying aych-shehu, chag sameach. Somehow, happy passover. Because that’s what we do. Somehow, keep the faith, keep the hope. Hatikva.”
Our thoughts and prayers are once again with our brothers and sisters under attack in Israel, Ukraine, and the women of this country.
Stay safe and stay healthy. Am Yisrael Chai! And, somehow, happy Passover.
