For the first time since summer 2019, six Boulder congregations, including Congregations Bonai Shalom and Har HaShem, will have a booth at the Boulder County Fair. The other congregations include Boulder Meeting of Friends, Community UCC, First Congregational UCC, and St. John’s Episcopal.
All six congregations are members of Colorado Faith Communities United to End Gun
Violence, a 48-member coalition that is the only faith-based organization in Colorado dedicated
to ending gun violence.
Two Boulder County chapters of Moms Demand Action will also be joining us. Volunteers will be handing out brochures on Colorado’s ERPO (red flag) law, safe gun storage, firearm suicide prevention, and veterans suicide prevention, and we’ll be giving out free gun locks provided by the Boulder County Sheriff’s office.
Volunteers will be at the fair from 10 am to 6 pm Thursday, August 11 to Sunday, August 14. The fairgrounds are located at 9595 Nelson Road, Longmont.
