Messinger Gallery Opening: Norman Koren

We are thrilled to welcome you to the Messinger Gallery for the opening of a new exhibition by photographer Norman Koren.
Norman Koren’s photography attempts to express the hidden life in intricate, often overlooked details of nature, as well as in old towns and buildings that express the deep individuality of their creators.
Weaving Workshop: Rigid Heddle 1
Tuesdays, beginning August 30

If you have ever been curious about learning how to weave this is the class for you! In this workshop, led by Sarah Goldenberg White, students will learn the basics of weaving, including loom setup, weaving terminology, how to read a rigid heddle weaving draft, and, of course, how to weave.
Clay Workshop: Apple and Honey Dishes

Enhance your Rosh Hashanah celebration with handmade plates and dishes. In this fun workshop with ceramic artist Rita Vali, students will explore texture and color as they create a small apple plate and honey dishes.
Clay Workshop: Seeds and Pods
Thursdays, October 13

Using nature as our inspiration, we will make decorative seeds and pods to brighten up your home or garden. Ceramic artist Rita Vali will lead the class through the creation of their piece, incorporating a variety of textures and glazes.
Weaving Workshop: Hand Dyed and Hand Woven
Tuesdays, beginning October 18
10 am – 2 pm | $225
In this class, fiber artist Sarah Goldenberg White will teach students the basics of dye application, color interactions as well as traditional Ikat dyeing techniques. After the yarn is dyed students will then thread their looms with their unique warps and weave either a table runner, wall hanging, or scarf!
Clay Workshop: Candelabras and Menorahs

This workshop with Rita Vali celebrates the time of year when the light from candles is joyous. Students will design and create a candelabra or menorah to be decorated using a variety of textures and glazes.
Weaving Workshop: Weft-Faced Weaving
Tuesdays, beginning November 29
10 am – 2 pm | $225
This class will cover traditional weft-faced weaving as well as how to use your rigid heddle loom to make wavy lines and organic patterns. In this class, led by Sarah Goldenberg White, students will be encouraged to play and test a variety of fibers to create one-of-a-kind wall hangings.

Back by popular demand! Another fun workshop with ceramic artist Rita Vali where we will explore shape, texture, and color as we create ceramic Hopeful Birds. In this class, you will make two beautiful birds – one to keep and one to gift.
