Weekly Edition: July 23rd, 2021

Shabbat shalom! This Saturday is Tu B’Av, (the 15th of Av) the Jewish/Israeli “Valentine’s Day.” To honor the long-standing Jewish tradition of Tu B’Av being connected with finding a partner, CoronaCrush will be hosting a global dating event in two segments:

  • US & Canada event will be on July 26, 9 PM Eastern Standard Time,
  • Israel & Europe event will be on July 26, 9 PM Israel time

Here’s how it works:

  • Answer some questions about yourself and your preferences for your partner
  • You are then matched with 7 video-chat dates of 7 minutes each
  • After the dates, you indicate who you would like to see again

Ian Mark built CoronaCrush, a remote Shidduch event platform for a Facebook page he and his friends started early in the pandemic, but after its popularity skyrocketed, he is committing to it full time.

Since its launch last year, CoronaCrush already has

  • 11,000 singles in their database
  • over 30,000 dates scheduled
  • 8 confirmed engagements
  • 5 weddings
  • 10+ organizations partnered for their global Tu B’Av event

Stay cool, stay safe, stay healthy!

About Editor

I'm David Fellows, and I've served as a writer, photographer and/or an editor on my junior high and high school newspapers; the Daily Trojan at USC (where I earned my journalism degree); the student newspaper at the Anderson School at UCLA (where I earned my MBA); and I've written and edited countless business documents and presentations in the ensuing twenty years. I was also a professional photographer from 1978 to 1988 (although you never really stop...). I've been involved Jewishly since my bris and in Boulder since 1995. I'm married to my Executive Director Cheryl, and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.
