There’s only one way to properly send off Kathryn Bernheimer into retirement and that’s with a dance party featuring the music she loves. After 16 years, Kathryn retired as Director of ACE: Arts, Culture, and Education at the Boulder JCC on August 26. The community is invited to celebrate Kathryn’s incredible work designing creative and engaging programming for the Boulder Jewish community, and her contribution to Boulder’s vibrant art scene.

On Wednesday, September 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, celebrate Kathryn with hors d’oeuvres, wine, dancing, and tributes. Sheldon Sands will be playing a live set and Kathryn has prepared a playlist of her favorite dance tunes. 

Kathryn started with the Boulder JCC in 2003 as the half-time JCC Program Director and the half-time Director of Menorah, which she eventually rebranded as ACE: Arts, Culture, and Education to focus on engagement through the cultural arts with a Jewish lens. Kathryn is also the Founding Director of the Boulder Jewish Film Festival and will continue in her role with the Festival as programmer and host. 

Family, friends, and fans will gather in Levin Hall to celebrate Kathryn and her impact on the cultural arts in Boulder on September 11. An art show follows the “rewirement” party. The community will also honor Kathryn by naming the closing screening of the Boulder Jewish Film Festival in 2020 in her honor.
