Hand-Made Matzoh?

Are you busy preparing a special Seder for you and your family, one that will have tasty food, meaningful discussion and be an authentic experience?  Good luck with all of the above.

shmuramatzaFor the past twenty three years, Boulder Center for Judaism has been importing the Rolls Royce of Matzoh, a traditional handmade variety, recommended for seder use.  This Matzoh is called Shmurah which  means “watched,” and it is an apt description of this matzah, the ingredients of which (the flour and water) are watched from becoming leavened from the moment of harvesting and drawing.

Shmurah matzot are round, kneaded and shaped by hand, and are similar to the matzot that were baked by the Children of Israel as they left Egypt.  Every step is carefully done by hand.  It is thus fitting to use shmurah matzah on each of the two Seder nights for the matzot of the Seder plate.

Here in Boulder, we bring in a truckload of this Special Matzoh.  Additionally, spelt and whole wheat matzah is available upon special request.

Matzot orders are flying like hotcakes!  Email Chany at boulderjudaism@gmail.com to reserve your own special box of Shmurah Matzoh, something that will be a conversation starter and an interesting addition to your Passover Seder.
