Shabbat Shalom! Our prayers go out to the families of the victims in the French Jewish Day School shooting earlier this week. The victims were buried in Israel Wednesday, and the killer jumped to his death from his apartment in Toulouse rather than be captured by French police. Mrs. Eva Sandler, the widow of one and mother of two of the victims published a heartfelt letter responding to the outpouring of support from all over the Jewish world.
Meanwhile, closer to home, Boulder’s Hadassah chapter partnered with Menorah to hold a celebration of the international organization’s 100th birthday last night. This weekend is both Tribefest, Jewish Federations of North America’s young leadership conference in Las Vegas, and the National Day of Unplugging, an event promoting Shabbat without technology. And the Passover countdown is now seven fourteen (getting a little ahead of ourselves).
Unplugged or not, this should be a beautiful weekend to get out and enjoy all the reasons we live in Boulder: skiing/boarding, biking, hiking/snowshoeing, golf, tennis, fishing — and all available at the same time!
