9Health Fair Saved My Life

This is a comment heard often after 9Health Fairs, held all over Colorado.  Greg Y. says,

My wife and I have been going to [the] 9Healthfair for many years, so it plays a big part in our lives. In April of 2003, we went again to have our annual blood screening but this time mine came back a little different. My PSA number came in a little high with a suggestion to make an appointment with my doctor. With further evaluation I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I had no previous symptoms. I was given several options but at my age of 51, surgery was the best for me. As you can see 9Healthfair saved my life. My family and I are so grateful for the services available to all of our communities.”

The Boulder JCC has been hosting the 9Health Fair for many years, serving 600 people in the Boulder Community each year.  This year the fair will be held on Wednesday, April 13, from 7 am – Noon at the Boulder JCC. We are proud to partner with Boulder Medical Center.

Basic screenings includes a 29-component Blood Chemistry for $30, Blood Count Screening for $15 and a HgbA1C blood screening for $25. Other free or low cost basic screenings include blood pressure, vision, skin, oral and bone density screenings. Screenings are limited and will close promptly at noon.

The Boulder JCC Health Fair wouldn’t be possible without the help of many volunteers! We need both medical and non-medical volunteers. Please contact Shari Schnee if you are available to help – we especially need volunteers for the morning shift starting at 6:30 am. Breakfast, good coffee and lunch provided for all volunteers!

This is a zero-waste event, and one of few GREEN fairs across the state. Cups of water will be available, but we encourage you to bring your own refillable water bottle! Thank you for helping us cut down on waste.
