Speak of His Miracles

Let’s go deeper into Passover than the usual field of plagues and frogs.

This is a story of ego gone awry

or a parable of two cultures

at war over who and what is God.

The Pharoah, with his alabaster idols,

stood amongst his harvest of statues made from earth and stone, and

was confounded by our Lord

so he inflicted his rage, but God put him in his place.

Our faith that teaches us to gather and

speak of his miracles

for they are our miracles too,

in the realm of being one with God. Pharoah’s thousands of years marked only by worshipping

a dead and cold idols,

of which he’ll be one,

cast a shadow upon his decisions.

He could only see the material world,

blind of all the dimensions,

all the spiritual realms

that play around us.

Our King who makes us believe in higher things, concepts that go beyond our borders, and teaches us empathy to reflect the other.

God,  She cries for our condition

while giving out grace and mercy,

pushes us to relive the past and gives us a path,  and opens our minds to miracles beyond notions.

The Pharaoh’s truth was so ingrained

that something existential was beyond his grasp.

It’s  a sad story of a Pharoah who believed the firstborn

were his culture’s heirs,

so he tried to inflict our firstborn,

but God stepped in, and so he lost his people.

All Jews are the heirs to the honey and the stone.

We hope for another child some day

will complete the circle of the minyan.

Our deep faith  in traditions and legislation have led us down a path

that is of God.

Our prayer teaches us devotion.

His yoke helps us

find our way through the maze of life.

The Passover seder reminds us

of our journey  and gives hope

that peace will be soon and permanent.

Passover is meant to infuse

ancient memories into the today of our lives, and at this time to hear, with joy and love, our future  recite the questions.
