Crafting a written legacy reflecting your perceptions on how to live a life of greater purpose and meaning
Please join us as Evie Cohen, an educator with the Jewish Association for Death Education (JADE), shares a presentation on “Creating Your Ethical Will”.
Tuesday, May 20, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
In person at Congregation Nevei Kodesh
1925 Glenwood Drive , Boulder, CO 80304
A beautiful, age-old Jewish tradition is the writing of the Tzava’ah, the Ethical Will. Unlike common types of Wills that focus on the disposition of the departed’s physical and financial assets, the Ethical Will can be an important opportunity to share values, experience, worldview, and life-knowledge with those we care about. This presentation and workshop will provide a start on how to write our own Tzava’ot.

We will examine and discuss several examples of Ethical Wills. There will be an opportunity to do some introspection, writing down what your values are, how you wish to be remembered and maybe some of life’s lessons you’ve learned. The expectation is that you can begin your document and be inspired to invest time afterwards to dig deeper and add to it.
From 2:00 to 2:30 we’ll gather, mingle and catch up with friends, old and new. Evie Cohen’s talk will start at 2:30 and will be followed by Q&A with audience discussion. Of course, there will be some snacks.
*This event is organized by the Boulder Chai Life Group which serves Jewish single senior adults (65+) in Boulder County and the surrounding neighborhoods with Jewish cultural programs and opportunities to meet and socialize with others. It is a community collaboration of Congregation Har HaShem, Congregation Bonai Shalom, Congregation Nevei Kodesh, the Boulder Jewish Community Center, and Boulder Jewish Family Services. All are welcome at the event.
