JDAIM Community Learning Evening February 6

JDAIM Community Learning Evening February 6

February is Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM), and the hope is to spark awareness and bring change into our everyday lives for those with disabilities in our Jewish community. JDAIM is a time for the Jewish community nationwide to learn, connect, and create programming that expands understanding and inclusion for those with disabilities and their families.

Join the JFS Jewish Disability Advocates team and our partner organizations on February 6 for a community learning event with disability rights advocate, writer, and storyteller Emily Ladau.

The free virtual event is from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public. ASL and closed captioning will be provided. Participants will learn about demystifying disability and advocating for accessibility and accommodations in Jewish spaces.

Ms. Ladau’s career began at age 10 when she appeared on Sesame Street to educate children about her life with a physical disability. She harnesses the power of storytelling as a tool to engage people in learning about disability, communicating respectfully about disability, and creating a culture of accessibility and inclusion.

Register today.
