Sunday November 17th in Boulder: Walk for the Hostages

This week’s walk is dedicated to the ten foreign workers and students who are still held hostage in Gaza. Eight of them are from Thailand, one is from Tanzania, and one is from Nepal. Seven of them are still alive.

Please say their names:

SURASAK LAMNAU, 31

WATCHARA SRION, 33

STIAN SWANAKAM, 35

PINTA NETAFONG, 36

PONGSAK TANNA, 37

BIBIN JOSHI, 23 (from Nepal)

SUNTAYA AKRASI, 20
May his memory be a blessing

SOTISAK RINTLAK, 43
May his memory be a blessing

JOSHUA LOITU MOLLEL, 22 (from Tanzania)
May his memory be a blessing

I’ve been posting pictures and information about all of them on Facebook and Instagram.

Please keep sharing the weekly flyer. We won’t stop walking until all the hostages are home.

Thank you for standing with us in solidarity with all 101 hostages. Sunday, November 17th, will be the 408th day that 101 people have been held hostage in Gaza by Hamas.

We invite all City Council members to walk with us, along with anyone else in City Government who wants to walk in solidarity.

We invite every synagogue to walk with us, every member at the JCC, every church, people of any denomination and no denomination.

Please share our posts on your social media accounts and on your list serves. We greatly appreciate your help getting the word out about our walks.

Bring an American flag, or just bring yourselves.

We will keep walking until they’re all home. It would mean so much to have you all walk with us too.

Let’s show people that Boulder has eyes on the 101 people still held captive in Gaza.

Let’s call out for their release. Let’s not be silent. Let’s be upstanders.

Join our Facebook group to see posts about each of the hostages. Copy and share them, add to their stories in the comments. Help keep the hostages in the headlines.

The local Boulder chapter of Run For Their Lives (part of the larger Bring Them Home Now initiative) has been walking in downtown Boulder every week. There are multiple groups like ours meeting internationally and across US cities (including a local Denver chapter). Our group has about 220 members, and has not missed a walk since Thanksgiving Weekend 2023.

Our group meets at 1 pm on the corner of Pearl & 8th and walks the length of the Pearl Street Mall and back, stopping at the courthouse for a brief video that the leads of Run For Their Lives include in their weekly recap. The goal is to share the message far and wide (specifically via social media) that the hostages have not been forgotten. This is not a protest; it is a peaceful walk to show solidarity with the hostages and their families, and a plea for their release.

When: Sunday, November 17th at 1 pm
Meet-up: Corner of Pearl & 8th Street
