The Road to Peace: The United States, Israel, and Egypt (1974-1979) with Professor Zach Levey

On April 18, Professor Zach Levey will speak at the Boulder JCC about the history of the peace process between Israel and Egypt. Professor Zach Levey is a political scientist with expertise in international history, Israeli foreign policy, the Cold War, U.S.-Israel relations, and the Arab-Israeli conflict. During his lecture, Professor Levey will explain the principal elements of the peace process and the role that the United States provided four short years after the Yom Kippur War. He’ll focus on how Israel and Egypt signed the Disengagment-of-Forces Agreement at Kilometer 101 in the Sinai Desert on January 18, 1974, providing information on how this peace treaty became historic and the impact the treaty holds in Israel today.

This program is made possible with a grant from JewishColorado. Doors will open at 5:30 pm with a light dinner, with the program beginning at 6:30 pm.
