Hundreds Turn Out to Celebrate Israel’s 69th Birthday

The Boulder JCC hosted a community Yom Haatzmaut celebration Monday night drawing hundreds of men, women and children, including dozens of Israelis. The festivities, presented by partners JEWISHcolorado and ACE at the J, included activites for all ages: Israeli music and dancing, a gaga pit, face painting and bounce house, lectures and panels about Israel, and a screening of “Mekonen,” a film about an Ethopian Jew’s odyssey of acceptance in the IDF. Along with the activities, there was mediterranean food from Falafel King for sale.
