5 Quintets About the Unknown, a Poem to God

5 Quintets About the Unknown, a Poem to God

1.
i don’t understand what God is,
only what i’ve been told,
what i do know
is that i am in love with
the Unknown.
2.
in love with God,
traveling the unpaved roads,
grazing in the fields that you do not know,
fill the roads with silver and gold as
your heart roams those fields Unknown.
3.
the Unknowing is in my heart,
carried through the day,
don’t know much,
yet i still pray,
asking Hashem to guide the way.
4.
laying in bed at night
this is really what i say –
“here i am, here i am, here i am,
i love you Hashem,”
nothing else needs to be said.
5.
getting out of bed this
and every day,
my heart open and again i say –
“here i am, here i am, here i am,”
i am in love with you Hashem.

About Todd Greenberg

Through prayer, worship, Torah Study, and Kabbalah I have been inspired to write poetry that tends more to the spiritual and mystical aspects found in Judaism. What comes "through" me I try to put into words. I hope that at least some of what I post to BJN will resonate with you and that you find inspiration from it for your own journey. Thank you for allowing to share my writings. Blessings, Todd
