Please join Haver, the Boulder Rabbinical Fellowship, for an evening with Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger and Khaled Abu Awwad of Shorashim/ Judur/ Roots.
Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger is an Orthodox rabbi and teacher, and a passionate Zionist settler who has been profoundly transformed by his friendship with Ali Abu Awwad, a leading Palestinian activist teaching his countrymen non-violent resistance, and reaching out to Jewish Israelis at the heart of the conflict.
Khaled Abu Awwad is among the foremost figures in the Palestinian community working towards peace and reconciliation between Palestinian and Israelis. He has been a part of the founding of three groundbreaking organizations and been awarded multiple international prizes for his projects.

Last year we had the opportunity to hear Ali’s and Hanan’s personal stories, and to learn how their stories have become intertwined. This year, we will get to hear the story of Ali’s half-brother, Khaled, and to learn about the work Roots has been doing on the ground since they were last here.
Please visit www.friendsofroots.net for more information on the inspiring grassroots projects being done by these Israelis and Palestinians who share the conviction that human understanding and trust are the prerequisites for lasting justice, freedom and peace on that tiny sliver of land that they both call home.
