The past 12 months have flown by, and we are heading into January with a full list of activities. I hope that you and your families enter the new year with good health and lots of love!
Recently I was asked if you need to register in advance for MOTJ programs. Yes, please register in advance for all programs. You can click the event links below to register.
Please read this note from Mark Lowenstein:
At the last Book Group, on December 18, we had an interesting discussion of Douglas Murray’s book. January’s book is An Empire of Their Own: How the Jews Invented Hollywood by Neil Gabler. I have started the book and it seems like an interesting read. (It has a 4.5-star rating on Amazon.) It is, however, a long book (over 500 pages) and we decided at the last meeting to cover it over the next two meetings. The book has two roughly equal parts, so that would work well and we’ll cover Part 1 in January and Part 2 in February. At January’s meeting we’ll also decide on books for the months of March to September. We decided to jettison mysteries as a genre, add some historical fiction, and maintain a mix of fiction and non-fiction. If you have any suggestions of books, please send me the titles (with the author’s name and page count) by January 5th. I’ll assemble all of the suggestions and circulate them to the group.
