Café at the J: Coffee with a Cause

Café at the J: Coffee with a Cause

Café at the J isn’t just another place to grab a cup of coffee—it’s a daily dose of purpose, brewed right into every sip. Tucked into the welcoming Lobby of the Boulder JCC, the café has quickly become more than a convenient stop. It’s a community gathering space built on mission, intention, and connection.

Not convinced? Come see for yourself. Café at the J is open Monday–Friday, 7:45 am–2:00 pm, right inside the Boulder JCC.

Coffee That Gives Back

What makes this café truly special? It’s powered by
Bridge House’s Community Table Kitchen, a local nonprofit that helps adults experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives through employment, support, and dignity. This partnership is about more than coffee—it’s about transforming lives.

When the Boulder JCC and Bridge House partnered, they shared a vision that extended well beyond serving coffee. As Boulder JCC Executive Director Jonathan Lev shared, “This was always about more than just a place to grab coffee—it was about creating a space where community, connection, and compassion come together, and where every interaction makes a difference.”

More Than Familiar Flavors

Sure, you can find your favorite coffee brands all over town. But Café at the J offers something deeper: a welcoming space where conversation flows as easily as the coffee. It’s where morning routines become moments of connection—between neighbors, colleagues, or new friends.

There’s ample parking and no shortage of cozy corners to enjoy your coffee. Settle upstairs at HaSifria Community Library, curl up on our comfy lobby couches under the latest Messinger Gallery exhibition artwork, bask in the sun in the courtyard, or take your cup on a stroll to say hello to the goats at Milk and Honey Farm. Whether you’re logging on, catching up with a friend, or simply savoring a quiet moment, there’s a perfect spot waiting for you.

All Are Welcome—No Barriers Here

Worried you’ll need a membership to visit? Don’t be. There are no gates to entry, no sign-ups required, and you don’t need to be Jewish or even part of the JCC community to stop by. The only thing you need is curiosity—and a craving for great coffee.

Just walk through the doors and head to the lobby. If you’re unsure where to go, the friendly folks at Reception will be glad to help. Café at the J is here for everyone, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 am to 2:00 pm.

Come for the coffee. Stay for the community.
