Shabbat Morning Service in Solidarity and Support

A co-created ecumenical service, led by Rabbis Nadya & Victor Gross, Pastors Janet and Phil Kettering, Rabbi Eva Sax-Bolder, Dr. Stuart Lord and other colleagues.

In this week’s Parsha / Torah reading, Moses sends leaders from each of the tribes to scout out the land that they are about to enter. He instructs them to check out what kind of a place it is … who are the people who live there and how do they live … can the land support life?

We know that we live in a beautiful place here. And the rich variety of produce at our local farmers markets tells the story of how well this land supports life.

As for the people …
Our recent experience, in the aftermath of the cruel attack on friends and community members on Pearl Street, was one of an outpouring of concern and offers of support. Pardes Levavot and Shepherd of the Hills have shared a deeply ecumenical relationship for more than 22 years. In that time, friendships have flourished and we have learned to appreciate how our unique faith journeys guide our lives and make us the kind of people we can count on. Over the years, other churches in the Gunbarrel area have joined our faith partnership, adding enrichment to our lived experience.

We are truly blessed to be part of an ever-expanding faith community that has our backs and we know we are safe here, in this community of faithful partnership.

Let’s come together to feel the full support of our faith community.

If you’re joining us, we welcome your offerings of fresh fruit or something sweet to share at our Kiddush.
