Experience Beth Ami’s Humanistic Rosh Hashanah and Tashlich

Saturday, September 16, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Harlow Platts Park picnic tables, shelter, and gazebo, Boulder CO

Greet the Jewish New Year of 5784 in a culturally relevant way, honoring our traditions and creating meaning for today. Transform the practice of Tashlich (“casting off sins”) into a welcome embrace of our individual and community wishes and plans for the coming year. Turn into quiet contemplation, walk around the lake, or a visit to the nearby playground.

We’ll sound the shofar, enjoy familiar songs, and find gratitude in Jewish community.

Enjoy our humanistic Rosh Hashanah/Tashlich experience in person next to the lovely Viele Lake in south Boulder at the Harlow Platts Picnic Shelter.

We are requesting a $20 per adult donation to Beth Ami, payable at the event in cash or by check. Greater or smaller donations are equally appreciated.

Please also consider bringing a donation of non-perishable food which will be delivered to Community Food Share.

How to find us: Look for our smiling faces under the Harlow Platts Park Picnic Shelter next to South Boulder Rec Center and Viele Lake. There is free, accessible parking in the lot along Gillaspie Drive. Look for the Beth Ami banner and be sure to dress for the CO weather.

Please take a moment to register on our Meetup Event-page so that we know to expect you. COVID-19 safety measures: If you have been exposed to an individual who has tested positive for COVID or have experienced COVID symptoms in the past 10 days, then we ask that you please skip this event and plan to attend one of our events in the future. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Beth Ami is the only Humanistic Jewish congregation in Colorado and is a proud affiliate of the Society for Humanistic Judaism. We celebrate Jewish holidays, learning and life cycle events through the secular lens of history, culture, and reason. We believe in the human capacity to create a better world without supernatural intervention.

Beth Ami is a welcoming community where we connect to Jewish past, celebrate Jewish present and link to Jewish future through a humanistic philosophy. We encourage anyone interested in learning about Humanistic Judaism to attend this and all our events.

Let’s do Jewish together – Humanistically!
