How is it that we understand the natural world and our place in it? Both science and religion seek to provide answers — And notably, they are often placed in conflict/ opposition. This workshop/ discussion provides an opportunity for us to collectively examine various perspectives on their relationship (from the oppositional to the integrative), and why and how these essential human constructs of science and religion influence and impact our lives.
Depending upon interest, we will examine various themes of science and Judaism, such as our origin stories (the Big Bang and Creation), and agency in the world. No homework necessary but we will be drawing on brief texts in science and Judaism.
