Challah, Worms, and Hiking – Camp?

Making challah for Shabbat in a solar oven, going on an awe inspiring hike at Chautauqua, making a Jewish blessing book related to the outdoors, discovering the world of worm composting – these are just a few of the exciting activities that children will experience at Camp Eco-FUN, July 20-24, 2015 from 9:00 am – Noon at the Boulder JCC.

Developed and led by Farmer Becca Weaver, the Farm and Sustainability Director at the Boulder JCC, Camp Eco-FUN is designed for children ages 5-10 who want to dig deeper into the science, art, and Jewish-ness behind the natural world. Campers learn about and experience environmental principles, radical amazement, and Jewish values through nature hikes, expert guest educators, field trips, and hands–on projects.

Camp Eco-FUN is made possible by a Hazon mini grant. For more information or to register for Camp Eco-FUN, please visit www.boulderjcc.org/CampEcoFun.

Since hiring their new Farm and Sustainability Director last year, many new programs are becoming possible at the Boulder JCC, distinguishing it from other JCCs around the country. The Boulder JCC will be the first JCC to manage a 2-acre Jewish educational and sustainable farm next to its new site on Cherryvale and Arapahoe. Learn more at www.boulderjcc.org/farm.
