Standing Together: JParent Community Coffee and Spaces for Connection

In light of recent challenges and painful events within our community, our hearts go out to the students and families navigating trauma, as well as to everyone feeling vulnerable, sad, or angry right now. Times like these remind us how deeply interconnected we are, and how vital it is to look out for one another. Please know this: You are not alone. We are here for you, and we stand united. To provide a dedicated space for connection, healing, and mutual support, you are warmly invited to join us for an informal, drop-in Community Coffee at the Boulder JCC.

Our primary focus right now is ensuring that every parent, teenager, and child feels supported and valued. Whether you want to process recent events, ask questions, or simply sit in community with others, our doors are wide open. The first session will take place on Friday, June 26, followed by a second session on Tuesday, June 30, both from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Both gatherings are informal, drop-in style, and open to all community members seeking comfort and connection. Representatives from local Jewish community organizations will also be present to offer guidance, resources, and a supportive ear.

Our children deserve environments where they feel entirely safe, protected, and respected. While we continue to advocate for systemic change and accountability within our local school districts, our immediate priority is to wrap our community in care and reinforce our shared resilience. We recognize that many families are carrying a heavy emotional burden right now. By coming together, we can share that weight and remind our youth that they belong to a strong, loving community that actively stands against hate, intimidation, and antisemitism.

In addition to joining us at the Community Coffee, please remember that you have access to a network of care and advocacy. Our local Clergy are available to provide spiritual and emotional comfort during this difficult time. If you or your children need a safe space to talk, please do not hesitate to reach out to them. For families who wish to report safety concerns, harassment, or incidents of antisemitism, vital channels remain open to ensure your voice is heard. Formal reports can be submitted directly to your school district administration, such as BVSD, SVVSD, or JeffCo, to require active follow-up from principals. Anonymous safety reports can also be made through Safe2Tell Colorado at safe2tell.org or by calling 1-877-542-7233. Additionally, community-wide trends and incidents can be reported confidentially to the ADL at adl.org/report-incident to help advocate for safer schools.

Together, as a resilient and united community, we will ensure our children can learn and grow in safety, dignity, and peace. We hope to see you on Friday, June 26, or Tuesday, June 30. Let us look out for one another, lift each other up, and find strength in community.
