Ukrainian folk vocal group YAGÓDY, are debuting a defiant anthem of perseverance, freedom, and unbreakable spirit titled “BRamaYa.” As their homeland endures the realities of war, this powerful song serves as both a rallying cry and a tribute to resilience. Before heading out on their first North American tour this month, YAGÓDY has submitted “BRamaYa” to the Eurovision Songwriting Contest, amplifying their message of strength to a global audience.
YAGÓDY is appearing at the Dairy Arts Center on April 22 as part of their tour.
“BRamaYa” is a call-to-action pulsing with the chant “Yanara,” a word inspired by the Roman god Janus, symbolizing both the pain of the past and the courage to move forward to the light. Its haunting vocal layers and tribal rhythms, influenced by musical traditions from Georgia, Turkey, and beyond, weave an atmosphere of raw urgency and cathartic release.
“The song speaks to unwavering loyalty to the ideals of freedom, even in the darkest times,” says YAGÓDY. “It carries the weight of grief and loss, yet within that wound lies a source of strength—where the human spirit finds its rebirth.”
With “BRamaYa”, YAGÓDY once again crafts a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and fearlessly forward-looking. Now available on all major streaming platforms, “BRamaYa” will take center stage as YAGÓDY embarks on their highly anticipated first North American tour.
