Staenberg-Loup JCC Offers Festive Ways to Celebrate Hanukkah Throughout December

Tickets on sale now for fourth annual Latkes and Lights on December 7

DENVER, Colo. November 13, 2025 –TheStaenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) invites the community to celebrate Hanukkah with a series of festive events, including the beloved Latkes and Lights celebration on Sunday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event features two latke competitions, a craft fair showcasing local vendors, live music, Hanukkah-themed games, and more. Tickets are on sale now.

Additional Hanukkah events include Jewish Baking: Sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts) on December 11 at 6:00 pm; Joseph’s Techno-Colored Dreamcoat LGBTQIA+ Hanukkah Party on December 11 , a monthly Klezmer, Balkan and World music concert and community jam session. This Festo! Festo! is in collaboration with Mizel Institute’s Annual KlezFest and will be held on December 20.; and Festo! Latkes and Lights is the epitome of community joy,” said Blair Ebert, engagement program manager at the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center. “The event is so much more than sampling delicious latkes. It’s a representation of warmth, light, and the vibrance of our culture all in one beautiful showcase.  It’s one of the most special events we host and our community looks forward to it all year!”

At Latkes and Lights, attendees can taste latkes from Latke Love, Zaidy’s, Rosenberg’s, Steuben’s and more, each competing for the Golden Latke Award, determined by a panel of guest judges. Judges include Chris Bianchi, KUSA-TV 9News meteorologist; Laura Menorah, Jewish drag queen; Sara Rosenthal, food and culture writer; and Dylan Anderson and Rachel Shindman, the Community Latke winners from 2024. The Community Latke Competition invites home cooks to show off their best recipes for a chance to earn bragging rights as Denver’s top home latke maker.

The event also features the Makers Mart craft fair highlighting local artisans, live music, Hanukkah games, sweet treats from Challahrado Hearth and Bonnie Brae Ice Cream, a dreidel-spinning competition, and more. 

Tickets are available on a sliding scale price model from $24 to $32 for an individual. A family four-pack costs $65 to $85 on the sliding scale. The purchase of one individual ticket or a family four pack includes a complimentary Latkes and Lights tote bag. Capacity is limited.
