Passover Queer Seder at JCC Denver on April 17

The Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center (JCC Denver) in Denver will be hosting its annual Queer Seder on Thursday, April 17 from 6:30-9 p.m. Tickets are available on a sliding scale for families and people of all ages.

Passover is the Jewish holiday commemorating the Israelites’ liberation from slavery in Egypt. It is celebrated with a special meal called a Seder, abstaining from eating leavened foods during the eight days of the holiday, and remembering the story of the Jews’ Exodus from Egypt. The Passover Seder is a time to celebrate, contemplate, and rejoice around freedom.

At Queer Seder, the community comes together to celebrate the hard-fought freedom of our LGBTQIA+ community and remind ourselves of the progress we have yet to make. Led by local rabbis and LGBTQIA+ leadership, Queer Seder will include a mix of Passover traditions and relevant readings, songs, and prayers to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community.

About Staff

They call me "NewsHound IV," because I'm a clever Finnegan, sniffing out stories all over the Boulder area. I love Jewish holidays because the food is GREAT, especially the brisket. Well all the food. I was a rescue pup and glad to be on the scent!
