A Cocktail of Hate Has No Place Here

Sunday, June 1, 2025 — Boulder, Colorado

Our human frailty
has shown itself today.
Our vulnerability
revealed itself again.

As our shock turns to grief,
as our anger turns to sorrow,
our wounded souls
ask for light.

Our despair
turns to strength.
Our pain
brings compassion.
Our broken hearts,
plant seeds that grow
slowly to joy.

On this narrow bridge
we walk —
one heart
crying together
in pain,
in hurt.
Praying with our feet,
we walk, we grieve
we heal.
Together
in community,
not in defeat.

We do not
fight with swords.
We rise from
the quiet stillness
of the heart,
walking side by side,
plowshares in hand,
through the wilderness
of time.

May our fears
turn to faith,
our faith
turn to love.

Climbing to Sinai together,
so we may live as one.

About Todd Greenberg

Through prayer, worship, Torah Study, and Kabbalah I have been inspired to write poetry that tends more to the spiritual and mystical aspects found in Judaism. What comes "through" me I try to put into words. I hope that at least some of what I post to BJN will resonate with you and that you find inspiration from it for your own journey. Thank you for allowing to share my writings. Blessings, Todd
