On October 6th, we hope to have at least 101 people walking with us — 1 for each of those who cannot walk right now.
It would be even more powerful if we had one of us walking for every single day they have been held captive.
Together, let us show the larger Boulder community and the world — via social media, and the fact of 220+ other groups walking across the globe — that we have not forgotten the hostages.
This is a humanitarian crisis — no matter one’s politics, all of us should be taking to the streets crying out for the return of those who were brutally kidnapped a year ago.
We are praying with our feet. We are a community within a community, and we invite all of you to join us. Please help us spread the word about these weekly walks. We won’t stop doing them until everyone is home. We have walked proudly and in vast numbers for others; it is now time to walk also for ourselves.
אם אין אני לי אם אין אני זוכה לעצמי מי יזכה בשבילי
פדיון שבוים מצוה רבה היא
Shana tova to all of you. May it be one with so much more peace.
Sunday, October 6th, marks the 365th day, one year, since 240 hostages were kidnapped from Israel and taken to Gaza. After last year’s short cease-fire exchange, recovery of 6 bodies, the recent rescue and earlier rescues, 101 of them, seven of whom are American citizens, still remain captive there. Please – join us this Sunday to walk for all those still held hostage. The world cannot forget. Please bring posters and flags (or you can borrow from us) and wear red.
The local Boulder chapter of Run For Their Lives (part of the larger Bring Them Home Now initiative) has been walking in downtown Boulder every week. There are multiple groups like ours meeting internationally and across US cities (including a local Denver chapter). Our group has about 220 members, and has not missed a walk since Thanksgiving Weekend 2023.
Our group meets at 1 pm on the corner of Pearl & 8th and walks the length of the Pearl Street Mall and back, stopping at the courthouse for a brief video that the leads of Run For Their Lives include in their weekly recap. The goal is to share the message far and wide (specifically via social media) that the hostages have not been forgotten. This is not a protest; it is a peaceful walk to show solidarity with the hostages and their families, and a plea for their release.
When: Sunday, October 6th at 1 pm
Meet-up: Corner of Pearl & 8th Street
