Message to Colorado Community from Shaul Amir

Day five of the atrocious attack on quiet innocent civilians, mothers fathers, babies, children, young and old.

The atrocities are being revealed slowly and they are difficult to fathom. Mass massacre without one shred of mercy. Animals hunt and kill to eat, it is nature’s way of survival of the fit. Humans are supposed to be better.

Hamas, the ISIS of Gaza Strip, should not be called animals. It is an insult to the animal kingdom.

December 7 1941, Pearl Harbor woke the Ameican sleeping lion. October 7 2023 woke the blind Israeli Tiger. Blinded by a messianic right wing Government, blinded by an incompetent, corrupt Prime Minister, blinded by misconceptions.

The price was unimaginable, well over 1300 soldiers, police officers, fire fighters and civilians dead according to the latest but not final count. Over 2900 wounded many of which severely wounded, over 130 hostages in the hand of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Multigenerational trauma that will stay with us for many years. But… as rude as this awakening was, we are up, fighting the war we can’t lose and we will win it as we have not only a strong army and undefeatable people, we just have nowhere to go!!!

There is an old Chinese proverb which says: if you corner a kitten with no escape, beware, as he will become a tiger. We were cornered on October 7 2023, there is no going back to what was before.

We will eliminate the Hamas abilities and they will not be a threat to Israel any more.

We will rebuild the destruction and return to bloom the desert. Last but not least and not necessarily in this order. We will overthrow this regime that brought this tragedy upon us by ignoring the warning signs, by diverting billions to a small portion of the population due to coalition unholy agreements that were signed to protect one person from paying the price for three counts of crime, submitting to ultra-orthodox financial demands that allowed them not to work or serve in the army. Submitting to Messianic parties who are itching to annex the West Bank which led to the deployment of big portion of our army in the West Bank to protect them while abandoning the need to better secure the Gaza Strip settlements.

This government has blood on its hands, this government has to go, the members of this government with its head, will pay the price. History will never forgive them.

I apologize for the length of this message which was written with tears in my eyes while my heart is bleeding. I wish I could hug all the families who lost their dear ones and the families of those who were taken hostage and those who do not yet know what and where their dear ones are.

WE SHALL OVER COME!!!

We Must Face Division with Calls for Unity

I am not looking for sympathy or pity, I tell my story as the basis for my life’s work: to bring unity and understanding everywhere I go. When protestors yell “from the river and to the sea” and other anti-Semitic chants, we must let the words of unity drown out those of division.

Column: A Future for Israel?

“Palestinians Must Have Hope for a Brighter Future,” urges a New York Times headline. It tops a Thanksgiving Day opinion piece authored by U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Hope for what? To kill more Jews? What about hope for the Jewish people?
