Rabbi Bruce Dollin Announces Retirement from HEA After 27 Years

DENVER (April 19, 2021) – After nearly 30 years of service for the Hebrew Educational Alliance,
Sr. Rabbi Bruce Dollin is announcing his plan to retire in October of 2022. Rabbi Dollin has
served as a rabbinic leader for nearly 40 years, starting in New Jersey and then moving to the
HEA in Denver in 1994.

“My work with the HEA has been the honor of my life. Denver has been my family’s home for
over a quarter century now, and the HEA has our family. After this past challenging year of the
pandemic, it is with love and affection for our wonderful synagogue that I am announcing my
intention to retire and spend more time with our children and, God willing, their children,” Rabbi
Bruce Dollin said. “I look forward to working with the HEA to ensure for a smooth transition,
and I am confident that the next senior rabbi will lead us into a bright future.”

“We are so grateful for the nearly three decades of leadership and service from Rabbi Dollin,”
Seth Davis, HEA President, said. “Under Rabbi Dollin’s leadership, HEA grew in every
capacity from the size of the congregation and school enrollment to the creation of our
preschool, three youth groups and the Goldberger Youth Center. We wish Rabbi Dollin a
wonderful, peaceful retirement and look forward to a bright future at the HEA.”

In retirement, Rabbi Dollin and his family plan to remain members of the HEA as an integral part
of the community.

HEA’s Board of Directors is working on a thoughtful, transparent process to select Rabbi Dollin’s
successor. Rabbi Dollin will participate in the Board’s selection process, and the congregation
will also have the opportunity to share their voice.

The Hebrew Educational Alliance (HEA) is a spiritual home for generations of Denver Jews
rooted in Conservative Judaism. Beyond religious services, HEA hosts a preschool and special
programming such as community youth experience groups.
